JALAN PEMBANGUNAN, BERAKAS

The Information Department, Prime Minister's Office, hosted an educational visit from Politeknik Brunei on Monday.

The guests comprising 25 students, were led by Awang Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Zainal, Politeknik Brunei's lecturer and accompanied by another lecturer.

The guests were received with a welcoming address by the Acting Director of Information, Dayang Hajah Noorashidah binti Haji Aliomar.

This was ensued by a briefing from Awang Ali Termizzi bin Haji Ramlli @ Haji Ramli, Information Officer, that focussed on the main and significant role played by the Information Department in the preservation and safeguarding of the image of the Sultan, the nation and the government as well as the official mouthpiece of the government in the dissemination of information and news that included policies, activities and programmes to all members of the society.

The relevant working strategy is also channelled through the print media such as the official media, Pelita Brunei in its weekly editions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, books that are based on nationhood and others, person-to-person meetings, and the new media such as a Face book page at 'Jabatan Penerangan Jabatan Perdana Menteri', Instagram at 'Infodept.bn' and Twitter at 'Infodept_bn'.

The conference ended with a question and answer session, and the presentation of a souvenir to the representative of Politeknik Brunei and a brief tour of the Mini Gallery of the Information Department, Photo Services Unit as well as the Pelita Brunei Section.
