Tutong Youth Inculcated with Positive Values

Recognising that youth who are good, pious and farsighted will be the nation's future leaders, the Tutong District Department of Mosque Affairs, in cooperation with the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Pekan Tutong, held a one-day programme to help inculcate good values among the young generation.

 

The programme, called 'A Day with Youth', which was held yesterday at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque saw the attendance of about 60 members of the Mosque Youths Group from Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque, Bukit Beruang Mosque, Kampong Penabai Mosque, Kampong Penanjong Mosque and Kampong Kiudang Mosque.

 

The objectives of the programme are to develop a generation of youth that possesses strong Islamic identity, help youths identify their own strengths and leadership qualities, raise awareness on the importance of good values in widening knowledge, encourage the youth to participate in healthy and beneficial activities through their mosques, guide the youth in reading old religious manuscripts to preserve such a skill and inculcate positive and proactive mindset to ensure a more focus and productive life.

 

The Tutong District Mosque Affairs Officer, Awang Haji Masri bin Haji Mohammad, said the programme covered, topics such as health checks, and what one must do before, during and after going to mosque.

 

Certificates were presented at the end of the programme by Awang Haji Haizul Rizal bin Haji Yahya, Acting Assistant Tutong District Officer.
