 March 29th, 2016  |  08:37 AM  |   5714 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

A forty-one-year-old man has denied threatening two policemen and his wife during an altercation at their home.

The defendant, Asnan bin Haji Laki, allegedly pointed a knife at PC Muhammad Izzat bin Harun and PC Haji Muhammad Dhiaurrahman bin Haji Ariffin when they tried to arrest him during the incident at 5.24pm in Kampong Lambak Kanan on March 14.

Asnan had allegedly yelled at his wife, "You, your father and mother are all devils ... I should kill rather than pray."

He allegedly said this while swinging a knife towards her an hour before the police arrived.

Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Danial Kifrawi informed the court that the trial prosecutor would be bringing in 10 witnesses, while Asnan said he had one witness.
