With the holy month of Ramadhan fast approaching, the Department of Councils of State yesterday organised a special lecture for the year 1437 Hijrah.

The guest of honour at the event was YB Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, the Speaker of the Legislative Council (LegCo).

Also present were Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Judin bin Haji Asar, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers' Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council, as well as members of the Legislative Council, senior officers, officers and staff of the Department of Councils of State.

The lecture entitled 'Prayer is the Key to Heaven' was delivered by Ustaz Dr Andus Haji Ismuhadi bin Haji Abdullah from the Islamic Da'wah Centre.

A Doa Selamat was later read to conclude the event that aimed to welcome the month of Ramadhan and enhance the attendees' understanding of Islam.
