The Ministry of Education (MoE) is holding a two-day Charity Sale at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre to raise contributions for the Special Needs Children Fund under Special Education Unit (SEU).

The funds will be used for preparations of the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

The event was officially launched yesterday by the Minister of Education, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman.

The ministry and its departments has set up 13 booths to sell new and used items such as clothing, books, magazine and electrical items.

This year's charity sale is organised by the Communication and Information Technology Department in collaboration with the Scholarship Section, MoE.

Some five per cent of the sale proceeds will be donated to the Special Needs Children Fund. Some 4,161 students are registered under the SEU.

Donation boxes have also been made available with 100 per cent of the collection to be channelled to the fund.

Visitors to the event will be able to see sideline activities such as a nostalgic car show.

The event yesterday started with a Zumba exercise session led by Fitness Zone instructors.
