MUIB Presented Donations to 30 Orphans

KIARONG, BRUNEI-MUARA
A total of B$14,610 has been donated to 30 orphaned children through special funds that have been approved by the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) and placed in Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah yesterday.
In conjunction with the presentation of donations to the children from Kampong Kiulap, Kiarong and Menglait, the Jame' 'Asr Takmir committee members also held a religious ceremony at the mosque's multi-purpose hall with the aim to assist with the daily expenses of the children.
The funds were collected from February to May 2016 and B$487 of the proceeds has been given to each child from the three villages.
The event commenced with a recitation of prayers led by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustafa bin Haji Murat, followed by a welcoming speech from Awang Haji Haris bin Haji Suboh, Chairman of the event, and a presentation of monetary donations and gifts to the orphans by the guest of honour, Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop, Acting Secretary of MUIB at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Also present were Awang Haji Mohammad bin Haji Abu Bakar, Village Head of Kampong Kiulap; Awang Haji Omarsidi bin Haji Ahmad, Village Head of Kampong Kiarong; Awang Haji Awang Mohdar bin Haji Ahmad, Village Head of Kampong Menglait; and consultative members of the villages.
