If only more businessmen had the same attitude.
Rob Braddick has been hailed a ‘star’ after he decided to give something back to the community.
Seafield car park in Westward Ho!, Devon cost villagers £3 per day – but that’s all now changed.
The owner of Braddick’s Leisure thought it would be a nice gesture to buy the 20-space car park from Torridge District Council and throw out the charges.
Now it doesn’t cost people a penny to use the space and they’ve all fallen a little bit in love with the man.
Braddick told BBC News it’s not about taking money.
He said: ‘It is nice to give something back to the community.
‘I would like people to come in and have a drink, but it is also next to an amazing walking route. The car park is for anybody to use, completely free.’
Everyone on social media thinks he’s an absolute legend – and we couldn’t agree more.
Lizzie Warrener called it a ‘marvelous gesture’.
Lucy Glover said: ‘You certainly make the local area proud.’
His grandfather, Leslie, used to own the patch of land until he sold it off in the early 1960s.
Braddick also bought an alleged haunted Victorian house beside the car park.
