SINGAPORE

FosSearch (Singapore) and Career International (Beijing) merge in collaboration in view of drastically expanding businesses from China.

March 30, 2016: FosSearch, a boutique account management driven search and recruitment firm in Singapore and in the region, announced today that it is merging with Career International. This new partnership is part of both company’s ongoing growth strategy involving the sharing of resources such as industry consultants and intelligence. The concerted effort between the two companies is aimed at helping their clients tackle the challenges the recruitment industry faces in light of growing technologies and increasing reliance on online job search.

Headquartered in Singapore, the newly named Career International–FOS (CI-FOS) now has joint overseas presence in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Vietnam. This merger will provide their clients and prospects who are global leaders in their respective industries with professional and effective solutions and services to satisfy their immediate and long term staffing needs.

“Being the largest HR service company in China that provides staffing solutions for outbound investors, it’s almost obligatory that we follow our clients’ footsteps to go global,” says President and CEO of Career International. “With the addition of FosSearch, we are uniquely positioned to expand our global reach especially in South East Asia and add a deep understanding of recruitment trends while expanding our network of talents.”

A key highlight of the merger will be to open the gateway for Chinese companies and investors to establish their presence in South East Asia. CI-FOS will play a key role in assisting foreign clients in the assimilation in local contexts by introducing them to legal requirements, governmental regulations, economic climates and cultural nuances.

“China has become the second largest outbound investor in the world and in no time, they will overtake to become the largest,” shares Cline Lee, International Business Director, Career International. “The request for services from such outbound investment has increased dramatically over the last few years. There is therefore a need to effectively expand our reach and build our talent database, which is always evolving.”

Moving forward with their merger, CI-FOS is also strategically turning its attention to what they dub as ‘Third Generation Recruitment’. “Gone are the days where there is heavy reliance on traditional talent recruitment. A second wave of recruitment trend, that is online or social media recruitment has been well in place. Now, CI-FOS endeavors to challenge the status quo by acquiring market intelligence through continuity,” says Henry Ong, Managing Director of Singapore and Regional Group Director, CI-FOS, “Our next steps will involve running candidate programmes and exclusive industry-related events to engage and re-engage them.”
