LIMBANG, SARAWAK
A man was arrested for burning down the family house in Kampung Pahlawan here after his hawker sister refused to lend him RM500.
The police chief Supt Mohd Bukhiori Saffai confirmed the arrest. He said an investigation indicated that he had threatened to either burn down the house or commit suicide when his 37-year-old sister said she did not any money to lend him.
His sister was selling vegetables at Tamu Limbang here when she received a call from her aunt that their house was on fire.
The suspect lives alone in the house after their mother died in February last year.
A urine test conducted by the Narcotics Department confirmed that he was abusing drugs. He is being detained for investigation under Section 436 of the Penal Code for arson.
