BERAKAS, BRUNEI-MUARA
KB Warriors are currently enjoying a solid start to life in the DST National Veteran Football League President Cup as they seize control at the top of Group H by a solitary point.
Having only been established as a club last September, an exciting 3-3 draw against former winners Persatuan Sang Jati Dusun (PSJD) in their latest outing has already easily been identified as a highlight so far this term.
The newly assembled team comprised distinctly gifted individuals with the arrival of former BSRC veteran star, Haji Affandi Haji Julaihi indicating a measure of their lofty ambitions in their bid for a deep run in both set of competitions.
And the goal-scoring machine has gotten off the mark after scoring his side's second in the draw which helped dent the Tutong-based outfit of sealing automatic qualification.
However, not all was lost for the President Cup finalists as two goals in quick succession through Tawang Siba and Haji Anuar Haji Seidil denied a three-game winning sequence in Warriors' debut campaign.
Continuing on their decent league form, KB Warriors are also pushing on the right track in the DST National Veteran Football League FA Cup following their progress to the second round after a 6-1 mauling over Muara Spurs.
PSJD reached the President Cup final last year where they suffered penalty heartache against three-time winners XN FT but are outside the qualifying places with a point after two games.
Meanwhile in Group G, fellow debutants Brunei Old Boys fell to a second consecutive defeat after feeling the full force of Mix FT in a 6-2 loss at the Royal Brunei Recreation Club.
