The Information Department, through the Division of Nationhood and Community's Nationhood Unit, yesterday held an ongoing Rakan Remaja' programme for over 500 students from Year 8 to Year 10 of the Menglait Secondary School.

The guest of honour yesterday was Kamaliah binti Haji Abdul Rahman, the Work Secretariat at National Education Council, Ministry of Education (MoE). Also present were the Principal Mohidin bin Haji Noordin, teachers, students and staff members of the school.

The event commenced with performances of the national anthem 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' and patriotic song 'Bendera Negara', followed by Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat recitations, prior to welcoming remarks from the principal.

The event then continued with a patriotic talk delivered by Information Officer Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya, followed by a brief video presentation on `Kibarkanlah Bendera Negara Dengan Megah', before being further enlivened with a musical instrument performance as well as a Qasidah by the students.

During the programme yesterday, some of the students were also given the opportunity to take part in a quiz session delivered by invited local comedians with exciting prizes up for grabs.
