MERAGANG, BRUNEI-MUARA
The Meragang Sixth Form Centre (PTEM) recently hosted a visit by a delegation from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Telok Datok Banting, Selangor.
A group of 22 teachers, two students and some family members began their journey from Peninsular Malaysia to the island on Borneo on May 28.
After visiting two schools in Sabah, the group arrived in Brunei on June 1 and their first stop was at PTE Meragang.
The visitors were greeted by the Principal of PTEM, Pengiran Hajah Maimunah binti Pengiran Haji Osman, and were treated to a traditional Malay dance.
The delegation was also taken on a tour of the school's art rooms, library, science labs and the food science room.
A meeting was then held at the PTEM Conference Room in which the guests were given a slide show presentation illustrating the many activities held throughout the year at PTEM.
The guests were also informed about the courses available at PTEM and the entry requirements.
Two PTEM student representatives gave a summary of student involvement in managing the school, and the guests were impressed by the range of activities.
A representative of the Malaysian school indicated the purpose of the visit was to learn more about the breadth and depth of Malay culture and society, with a focus on education and youth.
