The Ministry of Development (MoD) and departments under it held a Tedarus ceremony, Tahlil for the departed and breaking of fast at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Mosque in Kampong Rimba yesterday.

Present at the ceremony was the Minister of Development, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah.

Also present were the Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the MoD, Haji Muhammad Lutfi bin Abdullah; Permanent Secretary (Technical and Professional) at the MoD, Eddie bin Dato Paduka Haji Sunny; Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoD, Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin; heads of department and divisions; officers and staff of the ministry.

The ceremony began with the presentation of Waqaf or endowment in the form of 30 Rihal (AlQuran stands) by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin to Imam of the mosque, Haji Abidin bin Haji Matarshad.

The Tedarus began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the Imam and followed by the recitation of Al-Quran led by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin.

A similar ceremony will also be held on June 21 at Kampong Bengkurong Mosque while a ceremony to mark the completion of recitation or Khatam Al-Quran will take place at Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque in Kampong Tamoi on June 25.
