SMSA's Kitani Community Service Club Organised Donation Drive for Underprivileged Students

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Kitani Community Service Club recently organised an 11-day donation drive to raise funds for the underprivileged students of Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA).

A wide variety of items were sold at the charity event, from food and drinks to Raya clothing.

Dayang Basirah binti Ismail, a member of the Kitani Community Service Club, deemed the drive a success, which helped raise money for 300 bags of rice for 115 underprivileged SMSA students.

"This community service is a very heartfelt and appreciated event, as it gives a chance to those families in need to experience the Aidilfitri cheer the same as others," said Dayana binti Mohd Tazim, another club member.

The families themselves were also touched by the kind gesture of the club members, as well as of the community.

"I come from a family of eight, and this helps to take off some of the burdens off my parents' shoulders as breadwinners," said one of the student recipients.

Boosted by the success of this donation drive and its encouraging response, the Kitani Community Service Club has also pledged to organise more charity events to assist underprivileged people in the near future.
