The Tedarus ceremonies held nightly at Istana Nurul Iman since early Ramadhan came to a close last night with a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Laila Kanun Diraja Pengiran Haji Bahrin bin Pengiran Haji Abbas.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by YB Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal, a Legislative Council member followed by the recitation of the Al-Quran verses from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Masad.

The ceremony then proceeded with the recitation of verses from the Al-Quran led by the Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong.

The mass recitations of Takhtim and Tahlil as well as Doa Tahlil were led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

To further enliven the ceremony, Dikir Syarafil Anam and Marhaban were presented by Pehin-Pehin Khatib leading the recitation of the Zikir. The Zikir ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Kunchang.

Concluding the ceremony a Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr. Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.

Present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, members of the Legislative Council, deputy ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and senior government officers.
