Meth Junkie Sentenced to Three Months' Jail

The Magistrate's Court yesterday imposed a fine of B$1,500, or three months' jail in default, after he pleaded guilty to consuming meth.
The defendant, Awang Adiwan bin Awang Anak, was arrested at a house in Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kiri in a raid by Narcotics Control Bureau officers at 9.30pm on July 31, 2013.
Nothing related to drugs was found at the scene but the defendant's urine sample tested positive for the Class A drug methylamphetamine.
Narcotics Control Bureau Prosecutor Mahirah prosecuted the case.
Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman presided over the case.
