The Ramadhan Charity Adventure Programme under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports continued yesterday in the Temburong District, with Tedarus and Khatam Al-Quran recitation for youths at the RPN Kampong Rataie Mosque.

The programme has been an annual event for the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports since 2003, and has involved many parties associated with youths including government agencies and youth organisations.

The event involved 180 youths in the Temburong District, government agencies, the Temburong Arabic Preparatory School, the Pengiran Muda Mohamed Bolkiah Religious School and several youth organisations.

The guest of honour was Dato Paduka Dr. Haji Affendy bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The ceremony began with the mass recitation of the Al-Quran, followed by the Khatam Al-Quran and the reading of the Takhtim, which was followed by the Doa Khatam and Dikir Marhaban.

The ceremony then continued with the reading of the 'Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Brunei Darussalam', by the Imam of the mosque, which was ensued by a mass Zohor prayer.

Among those in attendance at yesterday's religious event was YB Awang Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Ahad, a member of the Legislative Council.
