MoRA Concluded Nationwide Tedarus Tour

KAMPONG SERASA, BRUNEI-MUARA

 

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday held the closing ceremony of a month-long series of visits to mosques nationwide with a Tedarus at the Setia Ali Mosque, Serasa.

 

The ceremony last night began with the mass recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs, in his capacity as the guest of honour, followed by the Khatam Al-Quran and Takhtim led by mosque officers.

 

A Doa Khatam was then read by Imam Pengiran Haji Rosman bin Pengiran Shahbudin followed by a prayer for the continuous good health of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam led by Awang Nasehin bin Yahya, Mosque Administration Officer of Setia Ali Mosque.

 

The event continued with the handover of Zakat worth B$73,400 to Asnaf Fakir recipients.

 

The Minister of Religious Affairs also presented B$500 to 30 heads of families and B$400 each to 146 families.

 

Also present were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs; Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the MoRA; Awang Haji Harun bin Haji Junid, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA; Awang Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administrative and Financial Affairs) at the MoRA; directors; senior officers; and staff from the ministry.

 

The ministry's delegation recently visited several mosques in all four districts to read the Tedarus in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

 

This year, the annual event was organised by the Administration Department and the Mosque Affairs Department.
