A total of 23 orphans of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the departments under it received donations during the ministry's Nuzul Al-Quran celebration, organised by the Brunei Investment Agency, held at the Theatre Hall yesterday.

The guest of honour was Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance II.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Minister of Finance, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah; Deputy Minister of Finance, Dato Paduka Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah; permanent secretaries; deputy permanent secretaries; heads of departments and unit; officers and staff members of the ministry and the departments under it.

The ceremony was enlivened with a religious talk entitled 'Berdamping dengan Al-Quran' by an invited speaker from the Islamic Da'wah Centre, Ustaz Isham bin Ismail prior to the presentation of donations to the orphans.

The ceremony ended with the recitation of Doa Selamat.
