The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and departments under it held a ceremony to present donations to the poor and destitute, orphans and staff of the ministry, at the MoRA building yesterday.

Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs, presented the donations to the recipients in his capacity as guest of honour.

The donations were presented to 39 orphans (22 male and 17 female) and four of the ministry's staff.

Meanwhile, 50 family heads and 69 dependents categorised as poor and destitute received a distribution of the Zakat fund.

Each head of the family received $500, while the dependents received $400. The total amount of Zakat fund distributed was $52,600.
