RM12,000 Worth of Items Seized on River Bank

The Marine Police here seized a variety of daily necessities, diesel and petrol all worth about RM12,000 during Ops Landai, here recently.
Officers from the Marine Intelligence Unit were on patrol when they spotted a pile of boxes and barrels of gas left suspiciously on the shores of Tanjung Batu River.
Upon inspection, the officers found 21 barrels of gas, 696 packs of sugar, 200 bottles of 5kg cooking oil, 935 packs of a variety of 1kg cooking oil, 150 packets of 1kg wheat flour, 210 litres of diesel and 450 litres of petrol left unattended on the river bank.
It is believed that all items were to be smuggled into a neighbouring country.
The seized items were taken to Marine Police base for further investigation and will be sent to Tawau Customs Department for investigation under Customs Act.
