The ongoing Ramadhan Al-Mubarak 2016 Expo at the Indoor Stadium in Berakas offers shoppers a wide selection of Baju Raya, Hijabs, festive delicacies, furniture and other home decorations, among others.

Awang Au Fadlyzul bin Rosli, the owner of Shop Intrend Enterprise which offers branded goods like handbags by Longchamp, Zara, Mango and Dorothy Perkins, noted that "business has been overwhelming."

"Over the past 13 days, we have reached the B$15,000 sales target. Our genuine handbags like Longchamp is cheaper than those sold in neighhbouring countries. In a week alone, we sold 10 Long Champ bags which are priced at B$180 each.

"In other countries, they take from the boutique and repair it when it is faulty. That is why it is more expensive, compared to what we sell here at the expo," he explained.

"Our selection of women's blouse, costing less than B$35, is also selling like hot cakes," he said.

Meanwhile, a group of students led by Dayang Syaima Syakirah binti Gadong from Siti Mariam Bakery & Cake House, and selling local cakes and other delicacies at the expo.

They say business has been very good, especially as Bruneians make last minute shopping.

"Our cake-rolls (priced between B$5 and B$10) and layered cakes (priced at B$12-B$20) are selling fast. We sell half layered cake at the expo, but if a customer wants a full layered cake, they can call us," Syaima explained.

However, Pakistani vendor, Haji Lal from Syarikat Noor Fatiha & Anak Anak, explained that business has been quiet as many Hari Raya expos and bazaars are also currently being held elsewhere, such as at the International Convention Centre and The Airport Mall.

He pointed out that the hottest selling items include Jubah, an attire that can be used for religious functions, while the latest trend among youths during the festivity is the 'Kurta.'

The expo sees its last day today, ending at 10pm.
