A rehearsal session for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 70th birthday celebration was held yesterday at the Community Hall Complex in Pekan Bangar in the Temburong District.

Attending the rehearsal was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs, who is also the Chairman of His Majesty's 70th birthday celebration committee.

Also present were YB Awang Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Ahad, a member of the Legislative Council; Awang Haji Mohd Abdoh bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Salam, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Awang Haji Mohammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar and Awang Haji Idris bin Haji Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs; and Awang Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Acting Temburong District Officer.

The training was specifically conducted for this year's 'padang' performance which highlights the ethnic features of the Temburong District with the theme 'Raja Berdaulat, Laila Perkasa'.

The full rehearsal will be held on July 13 by concentrating on the arrival of His Majesty for Majlis Remah Mesra and Junjung Ziarah with the people of the Temburong District.
