The Magistrate's Court recently imposed a fine of $10,500, or 15-month jail term in default of payment, on a twenty-nine-year-old local man after hearing his guilty plea two days ago to seven charges of possessing and consuming meth.

The defendant, Azri bin Hussin, possessed 0.3722 grammes of meth and consumed the same drug on July 26, 2011 at a house in Kampong Perpindahan Rimba.

He possessed 1.468 grammes of meth and consumed the same drug at the JKR sewage plant in Mulaut on March 12, 2013. He then consumed meth on March 20 and 25, 2014 and February 21, 2015. Magistrate Hajah Noor Amalina binti Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin presided over the case.

The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohammad Abdul Raafe' bin Haji lbrahim.
