34-Yrs-Old Sentenced to Jail for Drug Consumption

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

The Bandar Magistrate's Court yesterday sentenced a serial drug abuser to three years' imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to consuming the controlled substance Methelemphetamine or 'Syabu' in May last year.

 

The thirty-four-year-old defendant, Mohamad Sahipul Razial bin Haji Omar, was nabbed by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officers in a house in Kampong Rimba on the afternoon of May 2, 2015 after he was suspected of drug abuse.

 

He was brought to the NCB Headquarters for a urine test which tested positive after analysis from the Department of Scientific Services, NCB Prosecuting Officer Ahmad Faez Anuar informed Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid yesterday.

 

The magistrate ordered the prison term to commence from the day he was remanded on July 14, 2016.
