The Student Affairs Department of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) recently organised two days of religious talks, as part of the university's 'Awakening the Ummah' programme.

Officiating as guest of honour at the event was Ustaz Supri bin Haji Sudin, the Dean of Student Affairs at UNISSA.

The first talk, 'Ahamiyatus Syabab' (The Importance of Youth), was delivered by Ustaz Isham bin Ismail, a Religious Propagation Officer from the Islamic Da'wah Centre, who encouraged youths to adopt five important habits: diligence, piety, flexibility, contemplative worship and the ability to prioritise.

The second lecture, Hamasah AsSyabab' (Spirit of Youth) was delivered yesterday, by Dr. Kamaru Salam bin Yusof.

UNISSA recently hosted the 'Awakening the Ummah' programme over a course of four days, to educate Brunei youths about their importance to the country, as well as motivating them into taking up useful and constructive activities.
