The Guild of Graduates of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (GOG-UBD) is organising the 4th 'Talk Series' from 2pm to 4.30pm at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Student Centre on April 9.

Talk Series is an education seminar that aims to help its alumni and university undergraduates to develop confidence and skills, and also instill ideas on how the working environment would be in the business world.

Among the objectives of the talk series are to provide continuous support and contribution to the UBD community; to create awareness on the importance of the soft and non-academic knowledge and extra-curricular skills for graduates and students to market themselves to potential employers; to foster a sense of preparation for their career; to assist the university to produce well-rounded professional graduates; to give exposure to students and graduates on crucial skills and knowledge on career development beyond the university life; to encourage alumni, students and other working professionals to connect, establish networks and share knowledge.

The talk will be delivered by two experienced public speakers: Awang Harliff bin Mohammad from RegalBlue Production and Syen Sofian from Syensai Design, who are actively involved in the creative industry.

It is free admission for UBD alumni, university undergraduates and public.

Guild of Graduates is a professional body that caters to the needs of the university in getting all former graduates to give back to the institution.

The association plays a major role in creating unity as well as providing leadership and new opportunities that benefit fellow alumni and the university as a whole in terms of time, expertise and financial support.

It was first established in 1990 and has continued to plan and organise events and activities for the benefit of current students and especially our fellow alumni.

Among these events and activities are leadership courses for PMUBD council members; consultations for students and graduates; career fairs (Career 101) talk-the-talk and walk-the-walk events; and career profiling.
