The Kampong Tamoi Tengah and Kampong Tamoi Ujong Village Consultative Council yesterday appointed the new members for its 2017 session, replacing the 2016 committee.

The appointment, which saw seven new committee members, was held at the residence of Awang Tarif bin Haji Asgar, the Village Head of Kampong Tamoi Tengah and Kampong Tamoi Ujong, who also chaired the meeting and led the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah before its commencement.

Awang Haji Shari bin Lakim remainedin his position as deputy chairperson for the second session, and members of the women's bureau also received support during the meeting.

Some of the committee members suggested that from now on, village residents could engage themselves in entrepreneurial endeavours, especially the women's bureau with its Kampong Ayer traditional food production.

Also put forward were suggestions to make visits to mukims and villages, both inside and outside the district, for exchanges of knowledge, experience and views.
