BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Brunei's first horror film by Begohazirul Studio Production, 'Waris', was launched on Thursday night, followed by a screening for guests at the Times Cineplex in Berakas.

The ceremony was officiated by the Director of Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB), Awang Haji Muhammad Suffian bin Haji Bungsu, who earlier launched the movie at Times Hotel.

Also at the launching was veteran Malaysian actor Dato Jalaluddin Hassan, who plays the role of 'Pak Suharto' in the film, as well as the rest of the cast and invited guests, including three media correspondents from Malaysia who did some coverage.

Begohazirul Studio Production's first movie features, among other familiar faces, Bruneian actors Dayang Azreena binti Haji Mohd Yassin as 'Suraya' and rising star Awang Shahrul Amri bin Haji Saban as 'Fuad'.

In an interview, the film director and manager of Begohazirul Studio Production, Awang Nooralimin bin Haji Garip, shared that this marked the first time he has collaborated with a Malaysian actor, and from Dato Jalaluddin, the Bruneians benefitted from his vast knowledge and experience.

"The film is a combination of horror and mystery, and I lntended for it to not be too scary," he said.

"The movie, which runs for an hour and 45 minutes, took eight months to shoot... I hope that it will be well-received and supported."

`Wads' will screen at cinemas nationwide and the team will also be holding road shows at the different branches of Times Cineplex.
