The Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) in association with Embassy of the United States of America in Brunei Darussalam yesterday held a blood donation drive at the US Embassy.
The blood drive took place from 8.30am to 11.30am, and was open to its staff members.
The Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, Mark S Dieker, stated, "In conjunction with World Humanitarian Day, which takes place every year on August 19, the US Embassy is honoured to work hand-in-hand with and give back to the local community in Brunei Darussalam.
"All over the world we continue to see communities affected by crisis, and we salute the people who devote their lives to helping them.
"By donating blood, we are playing a small but significant role in making this world a better place."
"Every drop of your blood counts. When you donate blood, you also give back to the society; it also provides physical and mental benefits to the donor's health," stated Romeo Tabios, JPMC Blood Bank nurse.
"Each blood donation can help save potentially three lives," he added.
