Man Gets A Year’s Probation For Using Counterfeit Note

A local man was sentenced to a year's probation and 100 hours of community service by the Intermediate Court after he was convicted for using a counterfeit $500 note.
Mohd Yaakub bin Taib was charged in 2013 for handing an attendant at a petrol station in Seria a counterfeit $500 note after filling fuel in his car on the night of March 19, 2005.
He had claimed trial. He was found guilty and convicted by Judge Haji Abdullah Soefri bin Pehin Dato Haji Abidin in March.
Judge Haji Abdullah warned the defendant that had he fail to comply with the probation order, he will be liable to be sentenced according to the original penalty of the charge.
