2nd Chance Give to Local by High Court to Settle Fines

A local man was given a second chance by the High Court in an appeal to pay fines imposed by the Magistrate's Court for offences of possessing smuggled cigarettes.
Omar All bin Abdullah was given the last opportunity by Chief Justice Dato Seri Paduka Haji Kifrawi bin Dato Paduka Haji Kifli to pay instalments of $2,138 last August 31, 2016 and the end of everymonth after until full payment of $38,500, or he would have to serve 12 months in jail if he fails to pay.
Omar possessed 117 cartons of smuggled cigarettes in his vehicle when stopped by Customs preventive officers in Kampong Lumapas at 10.47am on November 27, 2015.
