Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) was officially accepted as a member of AUN-QA on April 4, 2016. AUN stands for Asean University Network which was established in 1995.

Among the objectives are to strengthen the existing network between universities in the Asean and outside regions to promote collaborative research, and programmes of study taking into account the importance of the Asean community, strengthening cooperation and solidarity among academics, experts, researchers in the Asean member countries as well as the body that become policy makers in higher education in the Asean region.

Meanwhile, the AUN-QA is one of the important events in the AUN which aims to monitor and evaluate the quality of academic programmes offered by members of the AUN.

As UNISSA turns a decade of its establishment, it is very significant and a landmark that UNISSA marches forward diligently to expand its credibility in raising academic programmes and strengthening its researches among its workforce to be comparable with the prestigious universities in the region.
