Trio Jailed And Fined For Consuming Drugs

A local trio were sentenced in separate cases before the Magistrate's Court yesterday after they pleaded guilty to consuming the Class A drug methylamphetamine.

 

 

Mazinah binti Ismail's urine sample was found positive for the drug to which she confirmed of consuming on or around September 3, 2014. She was sentenced to pay a fine of $1,500 or 1014. jail for three months in default of payment.

 

 

Awangku Mohammad Ibnu bin Pengiran Haji Othman was also fined $1,500 or serve jail for three months in default of payment. He was arrested at a house in Karnpong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan in a raid by Narcotics Control Bureau Officers at 4.45pm on August 13, 2015.

 

 

The raiding party suspected illegal drug activities were being carried out at the premises by several people. The defendant's urine sample was taken and tested positive for the drug, which he confirmed of consuming at the night of the raid.

 

 

Mohamad bin Haji Ibrahim was sentenced to four years imprisonment. He was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau Officers in a raid at a house in Perpindahan Kampong Mata-Mata Gadong at 10.20am on June 10, 2015.

 

 

His urine sample was taken and tested positive for the drug. He confirmed of having consumed the drug two to three days prior to his arrest.

 

 

Narcotics Control Bureau Prosecutor Norizan Haji Jaya represented the Public Prosecutor in the cases presided by Chief Magistrate Muhammed Faisal bin Pehin Dato Kefli.
