Islam never distinguishes between the rich and the poor as well as never excludes its ummah whether they are born perfect or those born with disabilities. In Brunei Darussalam, the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam always emphasizes on the welfare and well-being of People with Disabilities, OKU to always be protected. Yesterday Friday Sermon titled, Protection and Well-being of the Differently-abled, also touched on the enforcement of the Persons with Disabilities Order, 2021 and Old Age and Disability Pensions Act (Amendment) Order, 2021 as an important benchmark for the Differently-abled in the country where their well-being and protection have been given priority in the national agenda.

According to the prayer leader, we, as the community should be more empathetic and understanding of the challenges pertaining to the Differently-abled, as every individuals play a vital role in enduring the group is taken care of as a whole. Hence, the Differently-abled should be understood, helped and guided so that they feel loved, valued and do not feel left out by society as well as can live and continue their life better and more prosperous. Aside from that, eradicate the stigma and prejudice against them as the differently-abled persons are capable in gaining knowledge and independence.
