BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Brunei will be the main training hub for the popular American franchise Wayback Burgers, as it look to expand to the rest of Southeast Asia.

Wayback Burgers has already established its presence in the Sultanate, especially with the launch of its second branch at Giant Hypermarket Rimba.

John Eucalitto, the President of Wayback Burgers USA who is currently in the country for yesterday's launching, commented, "We have been in business for 25 years and never dreamt of going overseas, especially Brunei.

"We are very confident that this will be our hub for the development in Southeast Asia."Brunei is in fact the first Southeast Asian market that Wayback Burgers has put its permanent footprint.

On the progress, John Eucalitto highlighted, "We are off to a very good start with two restaurants and working on the third.

"We are also looking into expansion to Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, with Brunei as the main training hub for the rest of Southeast Asia."

What sets aside Wayback Burgers from its competitors, he explained, is that "we focus on the quality of the products, which are home-style cooked burgers, while our freshly made milkshakes and dips are also very popular among the customers".

The third branch of Wayback Burgers is expected to be opened by the year's end in the commercial area of Gadong and the franchise is currently also in the process of obtaining Halal certification.
