Zhou Breaks World Record, Wins 100m Backstroke S8 Gold

RIO DE JANEIRO
China's Zhou Cong set a new world record to win gold in the men's 100m backstroke S8 at the Rio Paralympics on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old finished in one minute 2.90 seconds to beat the previous record held by Russia's Konstantin Lisenkov by 0.42sec.
Britain's Oliver Hynd took silver in 1:04.46 and Robert Griswold claimed bronze in 1:04.68.
Zhou was left with spinal cord injuries after a car accident when he was 16.
He was previously a promising able-bodied swimmer, winning several national championship titles. Enditem
