A local man was sentenced to a 13 thousand dollar fine for an offence under Section 146(1) 'D' of the Excise Order 2006.

26-year-old, Muhamad Khairul Afiq Bin Awang Tinggal was detained on the 4th of December 2021 at a house in Kampung Meragang National Housing Scheme for possessing 12 cartons and 7 packs of cigarettes. The defendant was given until 22nd of September 2022 to settle the fine, and if in default, sentenced to 13 months imprisonment. All contraband was seized to be destroyed.
