A Brunei Darussalam female permanent resident was charged before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court yesterday for possession of contraband goods.

52 year old Suparti Binti Sunarto, pleaded guilty to possessing 16 cartons and 83 packs of cigarettes of various brands at a food stall in Kampung Selangan, Temburong.  The accused was fined $18,000 or 13 months imprisonment in default. The court has given the defendant until the 30th of November to settle the fine. All contraband was seized to be destroyed.
