A Subway lover claims to have found 'Britain's priciest salad' at one of the fast-food giant's restaurants- as they were selling the new brie box for £99.

Nick Krinthor, 40, was flicking through the Just eat app trying to find something for dinner when he came across the salad so thought he'd give it a go.

He checked the calorie count and was pleasantly surprised to see it contained 194 calories, but then when he saw the price he had second thoughts.

For some reason, the salad box from Subway was coming up for £99, despite other salads costing between £5 and £7, and Nick has now shared a screenshot of the erroneous item on Twitter.

Nick, from Baguley, Greater Manchester, said: "I was shocked, honestly. It's got to be the most expensive salad in the UK. No doubt.

"I was just looking to grab lunch for my mum and I almost added it to the basket before I realised the price.

"I know the cost of living is going up but that's taking liberties.

"I definitely didn't order that. I ended up getting a wrap instead, I didn't need to take out a loan to buy that.

"Subway said they'd passed it to the franchisee and they'd be in touch, but that hasn't happened yet.

"I hope it was just a typo and the decimal point was in the wrong place, but you never know.

"It makes you wonder what you might actually get were you to order it, but you'd think that no salad is worth that."

Uber Eats said menu pricing is the responsibility of restaurant partners.

The salad description boasts of the 'creamy' and 'indulgent' brie cheese, before asking if buyers would like to add extra bacon and other toppings for an additional cost.

The keen online streamer admits he decided against the salad and instead opted for a carb-heavy wrap as he 'wouldn't need to take out a loan' to afford it.

Despite him tweeting Subway to flag the issue, Just Eat's website displayed the hefty price tag for at least five days, before now marking it as 'unavailable'.

Subway declined to comment.
