Flight Attendant Shares Safety Check You Should Always Do Before Opening Hotel Door

Being a flight attendant, naturally, involves plenty of globetrotting, and this of course means getting well acquainted with the ins and out of staying in hotels.

One flight attendant has now shared some of her wisdom for staying in hotels, while encouraging fellow travellers to stay safe during their upcoming summer holidays.

As previously reported by the Daily Express, a TikTok user who regularly vlogs about her cabin crew adventures has shared three top tips for your hotel stay.

With so many of us planning to jet off for the first time in a couple of years, her handy hints will no doubt prove useful.

TikTok user @anjas.adventures has, first of all, urged those staying in hotels to 'never open your door without looking through the spy hole, it could be anyone!'

Although hotels may well have good security, you can never be too careful, and it's absolutely possible for non-guests to get into the building. This is before you even start to consider the number of other guests walking freely around the hotel corridors.

Therefore, it's always best to have a quick peek through your spy hole to check if the person knocking is who you expect.

With her next tip, the travel TikToker, advised people to 'replace your room key with a spare card to keep on the air con and your things charging!'

The majority of hotel rooms nowadays will operate with a key card rather than an old-fashioned key, which is typically kept in a slot near the door. As well as a key, this handy card often doubles as a means of controlling energy sources such as lights.

By switching the room key with another card, the flight attendant revealed that this may well keep appliances on, even when you nip out of the room for a bit.

She then went on to suggest that guests 'put something in the safe you won’t be able to leave your room without so you won’t forget about the rest of your stuff in there.'

This could, for example, be something like a shoe or a phone charger, or anything else you would immediately think of when getting your stuff together, ready to leave.
