BERAKAS

Yang Berhormat also informed on the implementation of no age restriction for all congregants at mosques and updated health advice.

No age restriction for all congregates at mosques to perform the Friday prayer and five-time fardhu prayers. Therefore, children under 12 years old are allowed to attend prayers at mosque. However, the use of own prayer mats for Friday prayer and five-time fardhu prayers is maintained. The Health advice is also updated. Face masks should be worn in public buildings; the use of face masks outdoors is encouraged especially in crowded places; A-R-T is encouraged prior to attending events and when not feeling well/symptomatic; and body temperature checks to enter premises is no longer required.

These changes take into account the situation of daily COVID-19 infections in Brunei Darussalam which has become stable; vaccination rates for the third dose, both adults and teenagers including vaccination rates for children are high; as well as severe cases and bed occupancy rates at isolation centres are low. To this end, we are able to return to our daily lives by adapting to the new normal.
