Media Conference On Latest COVID-19 Situation

191 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given to children aged 5 to 11 on 26th May 2022, bringing the total first dose vaccinations administered to 34,265 or 79.8 per cent. Meanwhile, 161 2nd doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered to children in the same age group bringing the total second dose administered to children in this age group to 19,114 or 44.5 per cent. This was stated by the Second Minister of Defence at the Media Conference on the latest COVID-19 Situation, yesterday afternoon.

 

Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof also informed that 72 per cent of the country's population have received a third dose of the vaccine. Joining the media conference at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

 

Yang Berhormat also said that 174 new cases were reported today, in which 173 were results from ARTs and one was from 271 RT-PCR lab tests performed. To date, Brunei Darussalam's total case is at 147,667. There are no cases in Categories 4 and 5. 222 cases have recovered, taking the total recovered cases to 145,916. In the meantime, 1,528 cases remain active, whereby three cases are currently being treated in hospitals, and 1,525 are on home self-isolation.
