His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience and junjung ziarah the country's intending haj pilgrims. The ceremony took place yesterday afternoon at Istana Nurul Iman.

His Majesty received in audience and junjung ziarah from intending male and female haj pilgrims. Also in attendance was His Majesty's son, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.

This year, 4 hundred 69 Brunei Darussalam intending pilgrims, including officers from the Haj Pilgrims Management Office for Administration and Medical, will perform the fifth Pillar of Islam. Out of the total, two hundred and 9 are male intending haj pilgrims and 237 are female. Three companies have been given approval to operate haj package services this year.

The intending haj pilgrims will leave for Madinah on two separate flights which are on the 15th and 16th of June.

Before leaving for the Holy Land, the intending haj pilgrims have undergone a 7 session haj course organised by the Haj Management Department. Through the course, the intending pilgrims will be able to understand and know how to perform the Haj correctly.
