His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah  ibni Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi  Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined the country's citizens and residents in performing the Mass Fardu Maghrib and Isyak Prayers; Reading of Surah Yassin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran in conjunction with His Majesty's 76th Birthday Celebration.

The ceremony was held late yesterday afternoon at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kiarong. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs,

 - Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs.

- And Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

Also present were His Majesty's sons:

 - His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al- Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister' Office;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

 The Mass Fardu Maghrib Prayer was led by Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustafa bin Haji Murat.

 Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib also led the Sunat Hajat prayer to seek blessings from Allah Subahanahu Wata'ala for His Majesty's long life.

Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib also led the reading of Surah Yaasin and Tahlil.

The Doa Kesyukuran was read by the State Mufti.

 The Mass Fardhu Isyak prayer was led by Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Suhaili bin Haji Metali Al-Hafiz.

The traditional Grand Royal Birthday Parade will be held TOMORROW, followed by the Audience and Investiture Ceremony.
