A local woman was sentenced by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court under Section 146 1D of the Excise Order 2006.

Norashimah Binti Ismail, a 32-year-old local was found guilty for possessing 33 cartons and 48 packets of cigarettes of various brands and cash from sales amounting to $463. The accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment starting yesterday after failing to pay a fine amounting to $36,300. Meanwhile, all contraband and cash of proceeds from the sale of cigarettes were confiscated.
