Reopening Of Land Border

 August 2nd, 2022  |  08:24 AM  |   266 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The land borders are fully opened starting yesterday after more than 2 years of closure following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The public who wish to travel overseas are encouraged to be fully vaccinated and buy insurance protection for COVID-19. During the initial stage of the border opening, operating hours for all land control posts is from 6 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon daily. RTB crews took a closer look at several land control posts in the country.

The Sungai Tujuh Control Post observed very light traffic. Two vehicles inspection counters were opened at the entry and exit areas. The Royal Customs and Excise Department and Department of Immigration and National Registration are ready to open additional counters, depending on the needs and current situations.

Meanwhile, at Kuala Lurah Control Post, several relevant agencies are seen conducting monitoring to ensure the entry and exit process runs smoothly by prioritising safety factors. The public is urged to register and apply for the Exit and Entry System and to pay the Service Charge of 3 dollars per person for a one-way trip, one day before travelling.

The Labu Control Post in Temburong District is operating as usual with a number of Brunei vehicles exiting the country. Further information on the border reopening is available at www.pmo.gov.bn/travelportal or contact hotline 120 or email to travel application at jpm.gov.bn.
