Mufti is like a successor of Rasulullah Shallahu 'Alaihi Wassalam in delivering Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala's teachings. Hence, great scholars must be mindful in issuing any fatwa which are the enactment of Allah's law. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti stated the matter at a Doa Kesyukuran and Appreciation ceremony in commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Brunei Darussalam Fatwa Institution's establishment.

The ceremony coincided with the presentation of appreciation certificate to those who have contributed their services and devotion in fulfilling their trust and duty during the early stages of the institution's establishment, as well as those who have and were in service at the State Mufti Department.
