His Royal Highness Prince Doctor Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office as Pro Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD yesterday morning officiated the UBD Convocation Festival 2022. With the theme 'Integrating Nature and Technology for a More Sustainable Future', the Convocation Festival was held in conjunction with UBD's 34th Convocation.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was greeted by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd. Salleh, Minister of Education.

The reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

His Royal Highness officiated the UBD Convocation Festival and the Pro-Chancellor Arts Centre Building.

His Royal Highness proceeded to sign the UBD Convocation Festival and the Pro-Chancellor Arts Centre Building's inauguration plaques.

His Royal Highness then watched a video titled 'Haunted' by Awang Muhammad Farhan Nizam bin Zaini, a UBD student.

His Royal Highness proceeded to take a closer look at an exhibition that showcased research projects of UBD students and alumni. The Development of Building Models with Vertical Greenery Systems for Energy Efficient Buildings project highlighted temperature and energy reduction using vertical greenery system.

Meanwhile, a project on Ground and Surface Water Investigation for Environment Impact Assessment in Brunei Darussalam stressed on the need for environmental impact assessment in the country's development projects.

The Study on the Dynamic Characteristics of a Bridge Using A Remote Bridge Health Condition Monitoring System focused on to understand the dynamic behaviour of the bridge.

A project on Power System Optimization highlighted optimization of net metering system economic load dispatch.

His Royal Highness also officiated the UBD Mini Gallery.

UBD strives to further enhance the culture of innovation through training and digital technology to improve research and development result.

UBD's 2025 vision focus on several main strategic goals such as towards an excellent university in research.
