24 Year Old Local Man Jailed for Theft

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Magistrate's Court yesterday sent a local man to jail for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to committing theft in a building.

Abdul Hakim bin S M Musa stole a metal and wood cutter machine from PAN Enterprise at the Kampong Katimahar Light Industry at 1.30pm on August 17, 2016.

Prosecutor Hilarie Shim told Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid that the defendant went to the area that day to look for a workshop to paint his car.

After getting a quotation from a workshop, he noticed the metal and wood cutting machine left unattended in a workshop next door and took it.

It was caught on CCTV camera and this led to the defendant's arrest by police after the machine owner reported the matter.
